I'm Back

Hello Guys,

I am back from Turkey. I had the most amazing time ever. Sorry it has taken me so long to write back on here, but I have been non stop since landing, and so so tired. I will share my photo's with all of you when I get the chance to upload them.

I was really spoilt, staying at a 5 star hotel which looked like it was on its own private island and with three private beaches - I was actually in paradise. On the down side I do have the patchiest tan I have ever seen. I was using factor 30 which I thought was high enough but I still managed to burn.

The thing is though the places that I have burnt I have tanned, and the rest of me is slightly tanned but you wouldn't be able to tell. I know I have a slight colour, but compared to my boyfriend I haven't changed at all! Oh well.

I am now nice and relaxed, just a bit disappointed that the weather for the bank holiday isn't that great, especially when I am used to high 20's all week. Lets hope it brightens up.

Hope you're all okay!

Just a quickie ...

Hello All,

Just thought I would leave a little message before I jet off into the sunshine. I must admit I am quite nervous now that the day has come, I really hope I don't make a scene on the plane - how embarrassing. I just will just think of the sun, sea and yummy cocktails!

I am all ready and raring to go, even if it looks like I have packed to go for a whole month. I weighed my suitcase last night and it was well under the weight but lets hope when I get there it's not much more (hello more money and embarrassment!) I have my 'Cosmo' & 'More' magazine to keep me occupied for some of the journey, as well as my ipod. Being with my boyfriend I also have that someone to annoy for the whole way :)

I will update you all when I get back! Hope you all have a lovely week!!

See you soon

Sorry!

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you're all okay. I just wanted to apoligise about the lack of posting yesterday. I had the most stressful day to date I think. It was my interview at John Lewis in Southampton yesterday morning, and I really didn't think I would make it on time. Funny enough I didn't. Travelling by car, is always risky you have to add extra time for traffic and any other obstacles, but yesterday was beyond a joke. Something major had happened on the m3 the main motorway to Southampton from where I live so we had to take a major detour.

There I was working up a sweat and going into panic mode about being late. I rang the lady I was meeting and explained the situation, I really thought she wouldn't be so nice about it "Oh you poor thing, come in when you can I am here until quarter past two, lets hope you get in before then or you've had an awful time, safe journey down". Wow I thought, people really do understand! Anyway I got there an hour and half late (3 and half hours to get to Southy!!), but she was waiting for me. The meeting/interview went really well.

Guess what guys? I have managed to bag myself a two week work experience in September to work on women's wear doing the VM and Promotion, I will also be going on days out to see how the whole process works - I am beyond excited. The icing on the cake is that they normally offer permanant positions once a week to work around uni, paid and you learn more about the industry! Whoopeee :)

It just tops my week off really, work experience sorted, place for next year sorted and holiday tomorrow :) I will probaby post later on too to show you how much I am packing!

Take care

Shopping is the answer to everything ...

'''
well maybe not everything but it certainly helps when you're feeling down in the dumps. That has been me for the past week or so, I am not sure why either. My friend Amber suggested a shopping trip today, as you probably all know I didn't turn it down. I did think that I wouldn't spend anything because to be honest my bank balance is not looking too healthy at the moment - especially with having just paid out for my holiday and spending money!

But as per usual I didn't leave the town empty handed (really bad I know) but the plus side is I actually didn't spend a penny! I found a New Look voucher in my purse, which I wasn't sure still had anything on, but I thought it was worth a check. My purchases came to £14.40 and funny enough my voucher had £14.20 on it, how cool is that? Proper freaky, but also super handy.

I have had my eye on a little crop top for a while, I am not daring enough to wear it without anything underneath which is why my ideas have had to be put on hold for a while. Well that was until I found this beauty today which actually looks so much better with a top underneath it. It was smack bang at the front of the shop all dressed up with a beige strap top under neath and a stunning necklace. I had to buy the whole lot! Well actually I had them all in my hand heading straight for the till when I realised amongst my piles of clothes at home I actually have a beige strap top, so I put that down (how good of me!?).

I must admit I didn't need the necklace but when you see how pretty it all looks together on a mannequin it is so hard to object. I am so looking forward to wearing this with my hot pants on holiday or my bargain trousers I bought the other day (on a previous post). I am a proud shopaholic, I am still smiling now, even when my drawers aren't closing and my wardrobe door is ajar, but hey I look spending not alot I can do about that!

I am still going to buy another couple of crop tops if I see any that take my fancy, any ideas guys?

This is a god send...

'''
for those pale ladies out there. Okay so because I don't tan naturally I have always tried to find a supplement that can help me out. Most of them go orange, and streaky after a few days (even those really expensive ones!) but I have found the best one for that natural glow without the patchiness and the expensive price tag.

It is from Avon (for those that don't know Avon is a beauty catalogue that gets sent to your door and you can order straight from it). I must admit I was a bit aprehensive to try something 'cheap' especially because they tend to be the ones that go wrong the most, but I was suprisingly wrong.

It is only £3.50 or two for a fiver (which I got). It is called Skin So Soft, and is just a body moisturiser with a hint of fake tan it. It does take up to three days to see the result, after applying it everyday. But it looks so natural and not yellow or orange - just right.

Even better it doesn't have that horrible fake tan smell and it dries really really quickly! If you need a quick fix then I would recommend this one highly!

Anyone else use it?

I just love ...

'''
painting my nails. Barry M is my favourite nail varnish but I just can't help myself from buying other nail varnishes when I love the colour. I have never been very good at painting my own nails but with Barry M it is near on impossible to screw it up. The thin brush is ideal for women with smaller nails just like myself because its easy to touch them up if they chip and also whilst painting them it reduces the splodges you usually get around your finger.

These are the nail varnishes I use the most, but my favourite is the bright pink by Barry M. I just love how it looks and it is so girly and summery! I am going to add to my collection on monday when I go 'last minute holiday shopping' just so I am stocked up with candy colours to keep my nails looking delicious!

Anyone else love Barry M?

Work Experience

'''
placements seem to be flying at me from every angle - finally. After all those letters and emails I seem to actually be getting somewhere. I have just been offered another work experience placement!! This time at John Lewis in Southampton. I am having to wait until September to do the actual placement but they have asked me to go in forf an interview on Tuesday. I am quite nervous, I haven't had to have an interview for a long time. I mean what do you wear? I don't want to be all suited and booted as I don't feel comfortable but then I don't want to look too casual and effortless.

I was thinking my black linens, little dolly pumps and the top below.

I will be wearing a black vest top underneath this top or it is a little bit too revealing, what do you guys think?

I am so happy that I seem to be, being repaid for all my hard work, I just hope this one happens unlike my other. Having said that they are going to check their diary and see if they can fit me in September, if they do then I am going to have such a busy month! Never mind well worth it!

Hope you're all okay

I highly recommend...

'''
Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella.

I have been a fan of Sophie Kinsella since she wrote the 'Shopaholic' collection which funny enough are my favourite books. This one from her is slightly different but is so witty. Some points I was actually laughing out loud, which takes alot for me to do when reading. If you like 'girly books' then this one is definitely for.

I would give you all a synopsis but I am so useless at them without giving the end away and I wouldn't want to ruin that for all of you!

I have now moved onto a book called 'Almost 5'4"' by Isobella Jade.

My little sister bought it for me for my birthday, she found the title highly amusing (I am rather short and she is ALOT taller than me and 6 years younger!) I hate to break it to her that I am actually 5'4"!

Has anyone read this one?

I think I have a serious problem...

'''
with shopping. I know I joke about it, but seriously I am spending far too much right now when I should be saving for my holiday. But as my friend said to me the other day, spend it while you can you never know whats going to happen. Slightly pessimistic but she is right.

Anyway enough of the philosophies I went shopping with my friend today. I was in such a spending mood so I was pretty impressed with only spending £30. I actually bought a whole outift! Let me share it with you below.

Sorry about the picture quality, got a very messy room at the moment! *cringe*

Top Republic £15.49 with student discount

Leggings New Look £10 in the sale (nice suprise when I got them to the till!)

Sandals Primark £6!

What do you all think? Not bad for a whole outfit I didn't think! :)

You've just got to have ...

'''
Faith shoes. It is a shame that Faith has gone into Administration, but for us shoe addicts it is a god send. I went in there today and I was amazed at just how cheap these gorgeous shoes are going for! I nearly fell over! I don't think my boyfriend was just as enthusiastic as me though!

I was so ready to buy a few pairs of shoes, but as usual all the small sizes had well and truely gone. I suppose I could have bought size 8 shoes and just hoped my feet would grow, but realistically that just isn't going to happen is it!?

Oh how I wish I had queued for this store ... I am just going to have to hope that I find some Faith shoes tomorrow on my next shopping spree...

Not bad going for a student really is it?

Hope you're all okay

I thought I would share...

'''
where I am going on holiday. I don't normally post twice in one day but I am ultra excited now as the tickets have arrived. I have heard lots of lovely things about Turkey, one being that right now it is super hot out there (best stock up on the sun lotion I don't want to burn now!) I just need an escape from this horrible weather here, well the usual British Summer I should say and the chance to relax.

How gorgeous does that look? I just want to be there now!

Everything is so cliche...

'''
In One Tree Hill but I love it. I am a total obssesive. I have spent my Saturday chilling out watching series 5. I was bought it for my birthday and just haven't had the time to watch them all, but I can safely say I am nearly finished - two episodes to go.

It is so addictive and deep down I really wish my life was as perfect as it seems there. I know its fictional but it doesn't stop a girl fantasising about how everything is meant to pan out. Call me sad but I know a few girls that do the same. It probably helps that Chad Michael Murray & James Lafferty are topless most of the time, oh and they make out they're the perfect man.

We all know that's hard to find, so two in the same place is pushing it surely? :)

(pictures sourced through Google)

I have never been one to be addicted to a tv programme but for some reason this one has got me hooked. I remember when it first started and they showed it on a Saturday and Sunday morning on T4. I used to watch it whilst getting ready for work, and since then I have been hunting down the box sets (I still only have series 1 & 5 - don't ask me how this happened!)

But I am one happy girl with my cuppa, chocolate and my OTH fix - perfect saturday to me.

Got a lovely Indian tonight with my bestie to look forward to :)

Things are on the up ...

Everything has been a bit stressful of late, especially the anticipation of a summer job. I hadn't heard anything from my previous employer for over 2 weeks so I thought the chance of working was out the window. BUT I got an email today asking me to call in, and good news I have got my old job back. I am working full time from the 1st June to the 31st August - it's like 6 days out of 7.

Okay so I am not going to have much of a summer but I need the pennies. Having said that though, I have the month of May to play with now I have finished and the whole of September. I am actually looking forward to going back to work - more of a routine and back to reality.

Another plus to my day is that John Lewis in Southampton have offered me an interview in a couple of weeks for a work experience placement in September. I am a tiny bit scared, well more anxious about the interview but thats because I haven't been to one in such a long time. I tend to just muddle my words, or just talk for Britain. I don't know whats better to be honest. It is such a relief that after months of sending letters and writing emails I have finally got somewhere. Fingers crossed everything goes okay!

Hope everyone is okay :)

They were needed...

'''
honestly. I was in desperate need of some new Jim Jams & panties. I know no one actually believes I bought these out of desperation but addiction. But I will have you know I was running quite low on these two necessities, well not extremely low but low enough that some purchases were in order.

I actually am in love with Primark (or Primada as some would refer to it) at the moment. They have some really nice things at such affordable prices. Especially when you're on the look for some snazzy but cheap undergarments. I mean no one really see's me in my Jim Jams or my underwear so aslong as I'm happy and comfortable I don't really mind. I just like to look nice.

For some reason my eyes always focus on anything pink. It must be that inner girly girl inside me. I love these little cute Jim Jam's at just £5.00 for the whole lot you can't go wrong can you? The little hotpants were a pack of 5 for £2 - again an absolute bargain. Alright so some of you may think my little panties aren't so sexy but I love them! I am one of these girls that adore little print pants - just like my Shaun the Sheep ones :)

Don't you all just love them?

And it's all over ...

'''
uni that is. I have finished my first year - where that has gone I just don't know! I must admit it was pretty stressful with all the commuting back and forth, with the heavy workload and the deadlines to stick to - but I managed to do it!

I can't express how nice it is to be home, and for a whole 5 months. Not only that but without the stress of work to be handed un, now I can just relax. Bliss! The only thing keeping my anticipated at the moment is my holiday. I am really looking forward to it but I really hate flying. I hope I don't make a tit of myself on the plane like I did when I went to Lanzarote. I don't even know why I don't like it, But I guess to go to all these lovely places you have to fight your fear of flying or you'll never go anywhere right?

I am just going to chill out this week, possible shopping trips and visit my grandad (he is a little bit poorly in hospital) and hopefully fingers crossed my work experience is next week. They're still trying to find a date to suit everyone.

Hope everyone is okay ... have any of you finished your first year already?

Off to the pub I go with my friend Chloe, celebratory drinks are in order I think!

Look what I found...

This top is years old. Well not years, but a few. I reckon I must have bought this when I was about 17. I think this proves my post yesterday right, of how I can't get rid of anything. To be honest I completely forgot I even had this. Back then I was really quite shy and only remember wearing this once to an 18th party, but topped it with a cardigan so no one saw its full potential.

I thought this would be ideal with my denim hot pants for my holiday. Saves me a few pennies, now I have gained an extra top. It's amazing what you find in your own bedroom. Maybe I should really listen to my Mum more and sort my room out on a regular basis. In hindsight would probably save me a lot of money. But hey wheres the fun in that!?

Hope you're all well

xox

Monday 3 May 2010

Anyone want to sort this out?

My room that is. Today my Mum put her foot down and told me I have to sort out my clothes and get rid of the ones I don't want. This has got to be one of the most challenging things I have ever had to do. Okay so that was a bit dramatic, but seriously it was so hard.

I am one of these people that keep things 'just incase'. Only because in the past I have thought 'oh I'll wear that' and gone to get it and it's not there because I have thrown it out thinking I won't wear it again. To be fair I probably do have to sort out my clothes as now they're not fitting in my drawers or my wardrobe, and with having such a small room its really hard to keep it looking tidy at the best of times. Let alone with clothes pouring out here, there and everywhere!

This was only some of my clothes at the beginning of my clear out and may I add this photo doesn't do it justice. The piles were really high. I couldn't even find my floor once they were all out, was pretty funny finding things with the labels still on and clothes I had forgotten about. It was kind of stressful and with Mum going 'try it on it might not fit' every 5 minutes I was beginning to become resentful. I have thrown out 2 pairs of jeans and a top, not bad going I don't think!

I think my Mum probably would have liked me to throw out more, but what she doesn't know won't hurt surely? ;)

Take a look at this little beauty...

'''
that I bought today. Well when I say bought I mean used my voucher from my birthday. Always makes you feel less guilty as technically it's someone else paying. I have been looking for a nice 'going out' top for ages. I thought this one was different with the little frilly bits, that have a little bit of cream on. I do tend to wear alot of black when I go out, so it was nice to have something a little different. The flower and ribbon just add to the feminine look.

When it comes to boobtubes I am a little self concious, mainly because I haven't been blessed with curves on my upper half, so I just constantly worry it will fall down. This one is ideal for us less curvacious girls, as it is elasticated around the back so no matter how much dancing or wiggling you do it just isn't going to budge.

I think I might wear this one to my sisters 18th party which is in a couple of weeks, a pair of leggings and chunky heels would look fab I think.

Any tips on how to get the best out of this top?

Hope you're all well

Slightly obsessed ...

'''
is an understatement when it comes to shoes. Today I was tidying up my room so I could fit in all my uni stuff that I have bought back. I have managed to add to my shoe collection pretty rapidly since being at uni. Its quit bad really. There I am moaning on a night out that I have no shoes to wear, yet when I look at this photo that completely proves different!

I can assure all of you that this collection will have doubled in size by the end of the year. However knowing me it probably would have tripled! A girl can never have too many shoes can they? :)

Who else is a shoe addict?
